over this past week, dad has been experiencing some dull tightening in his chest, and slight numbness in arm. a discomfort that eventually escalated, and resulted in a trip to the ER this afternoon.
his EKG was normal. but his blood pressure was higher than normal, (according to dad, it was the highest it has EVER been in his life!) his BP has, however, been going down slowly. so, as a precautionary measure dad will be having a sleepover at the hospital tonight. he will undergo a stress test tomorrow morning at around 10:00-ish.
he'll be having a blood test later tonight to measure different markers, and to see if there is any damage to the heart.
right now, dad is feeling good. he said that he feels like the healthiest person in the hospital! he's also extremely grateful that mom is there providing support, as well as someone to talk to and keep his mind off things.
he should be discharged early tomorrow afternoon after his stress test.
