Hip Hip Hooray!

You may well ask, "Why all of the excitement?"

Well, for two reasons. First, Chuck is now connected and almost through with his Third Chemo Cycle. After he gets disconnected on Friday, it will be three weeks off and then ONE LAST HOOK UP!!

HIP HIP HOORAY!!!

He seems to be fairing much better this week (knock on wood) as he's not had the nausea and chest discomfort as last time. He is sleeping more in the evenings after he gets home from work but I expect and encourage that to keep his strength up. (We leave for Florida on October 2nd and we want to be able to enjoy ourselves - as if we wouldn't!)

Now, the second reason for the celebration. I have a very dear and old (number of years knowing him not related to his age) friend whom I have been encouraging to get his colonoscopy. He does have history of cancer with BOTH of his grandfathers - not sure of any other family members. While he doesn't have his DATE with the scope yet, he has at least contacted the doctor's office to get it scheduled!! I have been so worried for him as he has young children. I do not want him to have to go through what we have. I also know that the thought of the process is a bit scary for him, or anyone for that matter.

So, Lee, I'm proud of you!! You know that Chuck and I will be thinking of you when your day comes and will only be a phone call away if you need to talk. Thank you for listening to my gentle, if not persistant, urgings regarding your health! Thank you for taking time out of your busy, busy schedule to put yourself first! I did it because I love you!! THANK YOU!!
