First, I would like to apologize for not posting anything new since our trip to Florida. It seemed that the days just flew by since we got back on the 8th. We were either at a doctor's office or having a medical procedure performed or working to prepare for being away from our respective work environments.
Well, today is June 25th and we no longer have that cancerous beast in Chuck's body! We are now on the road to recovery!!
To think of what we accomplished in three full months from the cancer discovery during Chuck's colonscopy on March 24th, through 5 long weeks of chemo and radiation therapy, to the cardiac scare and prostate biopsy (that ultimately didn't happen because the tumor had shrunk 90% so only an ultrsound was needed), to the actual surgery on June 24th. WHAT A RIDE!
For now, I just want to thank our families, friends and the medical staff that helped get us to the place where we can concentrate on just healing and preventing the cancer from returning. We could not have gone down this road without all of your support!
THANK YOU!!
(Keep checking back over the next few days and we will catch you up with the surgery and healing process ---- I promise!)
