While I'm just learning to do the Twitter thingy, I will let you know how our week will be scheduled JUST IN CASE I don't get the Twitter updated. (Of course, if I don't, Marcia I'm sure will assist). At least this way, you all will have an idea of what's going on.
Monday, April 13
NOTHING!! Vacation day for us!! Just gearing up for what's to come.
Tuesday, April 14
1:30 PM - Simulation with McFly
We will be meeting with his team to set up the radiation machine. They will also escort Chuck for a radiation CT scan of the abdoman/pelvis but without the cocktails and dye. We will also discuss the time of day for Chuck's treatments for the next 5 weeks.
4:35 PM - Meeting with Razzle Dazzle
This will be our first meeting with him. Chuck's other doctors want him involved just in case we find an issue with either the prostate or bladder. We don't think it will come to that "butt" we want to be prepared - just in case. We also need to get his pie input.
Wednesday, April 15
TAX DAY - ALL DAY!! (Have YOU filed yet?)
4:00 PM - Good Shepard Hospital
The mediport is to be put in by the Count. This is where all the chemotheraphy and blood work will go in or out of Chuck's body respectively. He will have to "wear" this implant for two years. No overnite stay will be needed as this is done under a local (maybe "twilight" drug).
Thursday, April 16
12:20 PM - Bettendorf Pavilion at St. Alexius Hospital
Dr Y wanted a CT of Chuck's chest so we'll do this then. He's to fast for three hours prior to event. We don't think he'll need to do any special drinking but we'll find out when we get there.
Friday, April 17
TIME UNKNOWN (we'll get this on Tuesday) - McFly
This will be the "dry run" for Monday, April 20th. We will be making sure that the radiation machine is accurately set up for "CR-Day" on Monday. (CR = Chemotherapy & Radiation)
Once we get to Monday and thereafter, we will actively be working towards getting rid of this cancerous tumor!! Actually, I think we're all ready to face this and show it that it can't beat a Franz or a Knapp or a Tumminaro or a Skelnik or a Polstein!! We are all a VERY FORMIDABLE bunch individually - let alone together!! We're ready for the fight!!

let this week's circus BEGIN! (hope you enjoyed your day off yesterday!)
GOOD LUCK THIS WEEK!!
i love you.
Good Luck Chuck. Sounds like quite a week.
Hope this busy week of doctor visits and chemo preparation goes well, Dad! Obviously it won't be fun, but the faster you get going on all these procedures, the sooner you'll be all done!
The Florida Franzes and Polsteins are thinking about you! Everyone here wanted me to wish you their best when I saw the whole gang on Easter, so there are plenty of thoughts and prayers heading up your way as we speak! It's a pretty straight shot, too...they just need to travel along I-75 most of the way, I think until about Chatanooga. From there, the thoughts and prayers will take a little jog on over to I-65 and will cross through Indianapolis before meeting up with I-80 in Illinois. I think they'll know the way from there, depending on the traffic and construction. Don't worry, I gave them a map and your phone number in case they get lost.
The thoughts and prayers would have just flown instead, but airline tickets are getting pretty expensive. I guess this economy is hurting everyone these days! Don't worry, though, they'll set their cruise control on 70 and will be there before you know it! (They'd drive even faster, but cops love to give speeding tickets to innocent thoughts and prayers minding their own business, especially in Kentucky).
Good luck, and keep us all posted!
LOVE,
BRIAN
Chuck,
Thanks for letting me in on this blog and Tim and I and the rest of the folks here at Lechler wish you nothing but the best. Keep your chin up and your positive attitude in charge. You have quite the rally around you!
Stay positive.
